I can’t really think of much to say for this month’s edition of The Daily Mercies; other than, to thank our Lord for sending His mercy through the prayers of our friends.  It means to much to have you place our needs before the Lord among a busy world full of so much to do, with so little time.  Thank you for seeking Him, and know He will extend His favor toward your blessing to others.  Maybe there is a need you would like to share with us.  You may do so by adding a comment on the Prayer Post, via email, or by linking your own post here.

Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving! Col. 4:2

Holiday Greetings3Holiday Greetings2

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!  Don’t you just love our seasonal blog themes!  Thanks to my wonderful husband Jerry, Rena (Click her name to see how she does Christmas.) and I can enjoy snow every year! And, hey, just in case you missed your turkey last month, don’t forget to scroll down for some Christmas cookies and coffee.

(They look better than any I’ve ever made… ha!)

Can you believe The Daily Mercies are here again?  Why?  Because I posted later in the month for November.  So, join us today in continued celebration of The Anointed One by linking within your comments.  To kick off this month’s festivities, let’s celebrate moving out of the valley from some of my previous Journal notes.

As one voice out of the valley of “Baka”, move in the direction of the angel:

1.) Arise and Get up!

2.) Put upon the belt of “Truth”.

3.) Bind your sandals. Put on your proper shoes; be balanced.

Stand and go forth in battle (pray) as my witness and disciple of my gospel. Be clothed in my armor and follow me. Change course and press toward the mark!

4.) Be not a hearer, but a doer! (Beyond the vision to reality!)

5.) Walk through doors only “I” can open!

6.) Know my hand of deliverance and press, even when you cannot see me!

7.) Walk in what you “know”!

Merry Christmas!christmas_signature

I’m so glad I’m a part of the Family of God,
I’ve been washed in the fountain, cleansed by His Blood!
Joint heirs with Jesus as we travel this sod,
For I’m part of the family,
The Family of God

“If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?  Wherefore lift up the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees; and make straight paths for your feet, lest that which is lame be turned out of the way; but let it rather be healed.” Heb. 12:7; 12-13

“And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.  From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” Ja. 2:12, 13; 3:10; 4:17

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” 1 Jo. 1:9

Today we celebrate as the Family of God.  The family who overcomes and learns to walk in His ways.  The family who celebrates new life and is covered in His love.   The family who celebrates Him!

The following article is submitted by Laura of I’m a Believer.  I am more than blessed to feature His word through her voice as this week’s post.  Please join me in sharing this timely message from our sister, minister and friend.  THANK YOU Laura for your obedience.

My sweet friend Ginger @ Here’s My Cup Lord asked me to write about MERCY a few months ago for The Daily Mercies, and I’m finally getting around to it.  (Sorry for the tardiness, Gin!  But I do thank you for extending this challenge to me.)  When I accepted, I didn’t know that it would prove to be such a challenge, but as I’ve consciously looked at God’s mercy for the past few months, I began to see how vast His mercy is and how freely and justly He extends it – far more than could be expressed by my simple words in a blog.

Mercy and grace are often paired together when describing some of God’s greatest gifts to us.  Grace being the giving of good things undeservedly, and mercy being the withholding of bad things, also undeservedly.  They go together beautifully, but I believe that mercy must be greater or at least come first, because without the gift of mercy, we would never even have the opportunity to enjoy God’s grace.

It is of the LORD’S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.  ~Lamentation 3:22-23

As I studied the GOODNESS of God, I became more and more convinced that God’s goodness is epitomized in His mercy.

O give thanks unto the LORD; for He is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.  ~Psalm 136:1

Psalm 136 says that because of God’s enduring mercy, we can know and be thankful that He is good.  After beginning with a declaration of God’s goodness and his mercy, the psalm lists all the things God has done for His people and repeats 26 times that God’s mercy endures forever!  Were it not for His great mercy, we would not be able to receive His great blessings.

In who He is, God is merciful.

In creation, God is merciful.

In defeating our enemies, God is merciful.

In delivering us from bondage, God is merciful.

In making the impossible possible, God is merciful.

In leading us through the wilderness, God is merciful.

In slaying the strongholds in our life, God is merciful.

In giving His children a heritage, God is merciful.

In remembering us, God is merciful.

In redeeming us, God is merciful.

In providing for our physical needs, God is merciful.

I give thanks to the Lord for He is eternally merciful!

When the Solomon’s temple was completed (2 Chronicles 5), and  the congregation gathered together to restore the ark of the covenant to its rightful place, they praised God together and declared God’s goodness and mercy with amazing results:

It came even to pass, as the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the LORD; and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of music, and praised the LORD, saying, For he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever: that then the house was filled with a cloud, even the house of the LORD;  So that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud: for the glory of the LORD had filled the house of God.  ~2 Chronicles 5:13-14 (emphasis added)

God has a supernatural mercy both for His children and for unrepentant sinners that I cannot comprehend, yet for which I am eternally grateful.  This supernatural mercy was extended to me while I was in the process of rejecting Him.

But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.  ~Romans 5:8

It continues to be extended to me now that I am one of His own.  Daily He gives mercy freely and completely.  Christ died for ME! and declares now that since I have received His ultimate gift of mercy, the sacrificial death of Jesus, that I am the temple of His Holy Spirit.

Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?  ~1 Corinthians 3:16

Imagine the power we will have as Christians, when we declare that God is good and recognize that His mercy endures forever, when the glory of the Lord fills our temples so completely that our flesh cannot stand because of His glory!  My challenge to myself daily, and to any of you who would pick it up, is to declare daily the mercy of God in all things, and then to walk in victory because of the glory of the Lord that will fill your temple.

Let them now that fear the LORD say, that his mercy endureth for ever.  ~Psalm 118:4

I’m a Believer!

Click here for more about The Daily Mercies.

A while back I heard a message by Kellie Copeland Swisher, through the blessing of the BVOV podcasts, and was enlightened by the truth in her words.  She spoke of dating and the effects it has on both teens and adults, reminding us of God’s purpose through marriage and how He has chosen someone specifically for each of us.

How I wish I knew her wisdom in times past, and how grateful I am to have such a wonderful husband to share life with.  The realization that dating, in itself, is not God’s choice for us makes much since to me, as none of what you share through this process belongs to anyone other than your mate whom God has called.  As such, much heartache can be avoided by simply waiting on HIM.

I am sure if I were to poll this post, I would get mixed reviews, but for now, I’ll just rest in the mercy He provided as one whom he has brought through the fires and is forever purifying the heart of His princess.

In closing, I leave this message to my nieces, “Dance Courtney Dance, and shout Cammie shout!”

Ok, so today will mark the beginning of my randomness with Andrea at Under Grace and Over Coffee.  Yay!  Sharing coffee with someone who speaks yaya WFM!  Now really, ladies, I wont bore you with many tales of woe.  I’ll just ramble on, jumping from subject to subject  as we often do.

Actually, I hope to keep these short and sweet for those days I’m all out of chocolate.  Yesterday we began hosting a Web-Wedding shower for Jeni Friend.  That is her name and a friend she had quickly become.  We are planning our next shower on Sunday, June 14th.  I will probably be posting early since it lands on Sunday.  This will give all of you time to join the fun and get your virtual gifts together.  I have actually set this up as a mini-meme so others can join with their individual posts.  I can’t wait to see what everybody comes up with!

What a way to meet each other!  Jeni has lots of friends whom she knows in real life within her blogging circle.  Then there’s those of us who have only known her for the short time she’s been blogging with us.  How great is GOD that He would arrange such a meeting?!

Now on to another subject concerning memes.  (How’s that for random?)  My sis and I are hosting The Daily Mercies on Sunday, which has received very little traffic.  We are hoping this is mainly because of our choice in days.  So, with Sundays being the day of rest, we are considering a move to Saturdays.  While we sincerely do not wish to interfere with any of the other memes out there, we feel this is the best day for us.  We thought it might be a good idea to poll this question and get your opinions on the matter.  I am not sure how to go about that, so for now… what do you think?  Do you have any further suggestions in helping us get the word out and inviting others to join?

If so, please let us know and leave us your comments.  We would not only love to hear what you have to say, we would also love to have you become a part of what is so close to our hearts.  You may even want to read the rules and scroll our blogs here and there to see what we’ve shared in the past.  Thanks for helping us out ladies.  Go ahead and grab another cup of coffee for this one… ha!

Please scroll down, or click here for update on RENA’s blog.
The Attributes Found in a Proverbs 31 Woman

(Adapted from a lesson and outline passed on to me by my sister-in-law Jennifer and dedicated to my sister Rena for her baby shower.  Thanks Jen, this stuff is soo great!  Click her name to visit her brand new blog!)

“The heart of her husband safely trust her so he will have no lack of gain. Her husband trust her in all areas financially, physically, and spiritually.  He knows she has his best interest at heart and will uphold her family with wisdom.  (So, yes that means sacrifice!  …Even in the shoe dept!)

“She does him good and not evil all the days of her life.” She honors him as head of her home and loves him as the heart.  She will follow him as the soldier into battle and stand beside him in times of war. She goes out before him on her knees. (She knows her place and finds favor in submission.  She resists the urge to lash out in contention…even if she thinks he deserves it!…ha!)

She seeks wool and flax and willingly works with her hands.” Ok, so she doesn’t have to sow, but she can go shopping!

“She is like the merchant ships and brings him food from afar.” Here she simply find the way to his heart through his stomach.  Hey, she does go grocery shopping!  Sometimes she can make him his favorite meals when she’s too tired to stand.  (He just better make sure he loads that dishwasher correctly…j/j)

“She also rises while it is yet night and provides food for her household, and a portion for her maidservants.” This woman had help!  Today she does well to get her husband off to work with a cup of coffee and breakfast.  Or, maybe, he usually stops along the way.  Either way, she does what she can to prepare him for his day. (This includes finding time to iron his clothes, maybe when she’s not seeking wool or flax…ha!)

“She considers a field and buys it, from her profits, she plants a vineyard!” Hmm…she oversees the needs of her household.  When she makes purchases, she does so wisely being mindful of their finances.  When she is profitable, she plants further seed and shows herself to be a good steward.  (When she does so, she works to aid her husband in whatever way they choose, whether she is to handle the finances or not….)

She girds herself with strength and strengthens her arms.” Here she exercises and eats right!  (What about comfort food?!…Ok in moderation, please…ha!)

“She perceives that her merchandise is good, and her light doesn’t go out by night.” She is a righteous woman of God!  She does the right thing at the right time and follows His ways.  She is ever watchful over all of her families’ needs keeping His light in sowing His word and in prayer.  She knows her adversary and will not allow the thief to enter her household of faith.  Oh! Yes, even in the midnight hour!

“She stretches out her hands to the distaff, and her hand holds the spindle.” She may not make her own clothes today, but she dresses like a lady and is tasteful in what she purchases.  She is careful to buy those items she knows her husband prefers and enjoys.  (Yes, I said enjoys, this is her husband remember…?! )  When she dresses she also imparts this to her children weaving them in His likeness.

“She extends her hand to the poor, Yes she reaches out to the needy.” She sees there are many areas out there where others have need and she is mindful to do what she  can.  Maybe she cleans out her closet and those of her family and makes sure to give out of her excess.  Or, she simply provides a meal.  She lends her hand in service where needed.  Yes, God has blessed this woman and she is sure to bless others.

“She is not afraid of snow for her household for all her family is clothed in scarlet.” Her family is prepared spiritually and financially for the tough winters that may come.  Spiritually they can make it through any storm as they are covered in the blood of the spotless lamb.  Financially they are also covered in His wisdom and wool following His principles.

“She makes tapestry for herself, her clothing is fine linen and purple.” She is beautiful on the inside out while this also reminds us that she dresses well in the eyes of those who see her, as she dresses to please her husband.  Though she is blessed, she is moderate and walks in the conviction of His love with confidence in whose she is.

“Her husband is known in the gates when he sits among the elders in the land.” Because she upholds her man as the heart of his home, others see a good reflection of him as the head.  She is wise and covers her family without tearing down her household.  Thus, when she is upright so is he bringing him both respect and favor.

“She makes linen garments and sells them and makes sashes for the merchants.” She does whatever work is necessary aid her household financially or otherwise.

“Strength and honor are her clothing, she will regain strength in time to come.” This woman of true beauty  stands in strength as she upholds her place so her husband can maintain his.  She walks in a reputation of honor and integrity as his helpmate.  Without this woman there is much that would tear down their home.
She is joyous as her praise comes in due season as she sees the work of her hands.

“She opens her mouth with wisdom and her tongue is the law of kindness.” She is a wise woman who keeps to her own business.  She is not given to gossip or idle communication.  She is also meek, exercising self control.  She keeps her mouth shut and is careful to not speak in her anger!  She doesn’t walk around telling off all the other rude people in the world!  (…Ouch!)

“She watches over the ways of her household, and does not eat of the bread of idleness.” She is more than aware, she is involved in the condition of her family.  She has a strong relationship with her children and knows where they are.  She is concerned, not controlled and is “Busy about the Father’s business”!

“Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also praises her.  Many daughters have done well, but YOU excel them all.” Her husband and children appreciate, respect, and honor her.  Even when it doesn’t seem they are aware of all that she has done, her husband is proud of her and notes this among friends. While her children do the same.  Retreat is found in the home she has kept for her family, as well as others she may serve with gladness.

“Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing, but a woman who fears the Lord shall be praised.” Give her of the fruit of her hands and let her on works praise in her gates.”  As outward beauty fades, the inward shines bright as the deep well of His word within produces substance without.  As faith without work is dead so is that without fruit.  The fruit of her labor is found in the eyes of her husband and children.  It is behold in their walk as others may taste the seeds she’s planted.

Wow!  This is one busy mamma!  Ok…with all of this work it may seem overwhelming, but as she gives her all to the Lord and likewise her family, the intent of her heart is seen among many.  In truth it may seem that she is doing all the work, but she does not speak of her man’s labor!  She knows her husband works hard and she too, is proud of him!  The husband and wife uphold one another in the household of faith.  This woman knows he is the head and finds peace in that, as she fulfills her destiny as the heart!

So, what can we say then of this, Proverbs 31 woman…?
…We can simply say, “Nanny, this woman is YOU!”
Love, your family and friends

“And when the LORD saw that he turned aside to see, God called unto him out of the midst of the bush, and said, Moses, Moses. And he said, Here am I.   And he said, Draw not nigh hither: put off thy shoes from off thy feet, for the place whereon thou standest is holy ground.” Ex. 3:4-5

Revere His words.

“Now therefore, behold, the cry of the children of Israel is come unto me: and I have also seen the oppression wherewith the Egyptians oppress them. Come now therefore, and I will send thee unto Pharaoh, that thou mayest bring forth my people the children of Israel out of Egypt.” Ex. 3:9-10

He will see you and deliver you from oppression.

“And Moses said unto God, Who am I, that I should go unto Pharaoh, and that I should bring forth the children of Israel out of Egypt?   And he said, Certainly I will be with thee; and this shall be a token unto thee, that I have sent thee: When thou hast brought forth the people out of Egypt, ye shall serve God upon this mountain.” Ex. 3:11-12

Take no account of who you are, and know He is with you at all times—in spite of your weaknesses.

“And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.”  Ex. 3:14

He being the “I am” signifies His sovreignty—as being all things to us at all times—meeting our every need.  He is “Shammah” who is there,  (here there and everywhere) who makes all things complete.  He will do as He said in verse 12.  The cross being our sign—His word our answer.
