Become a Better You

  • Jerry’s personal notes based upon the book Become a Better You by Joel Osteen

He who began a good work in you will continue to perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.

With our tongue, we can either bless our life or curse our life.

This problem didn’t come to stay; it came to pass.

I am strong in the Lord.  I can do all things through Christ.  I am well able to fulfill my destiny.

Whatever you send out always comes back to you.

If you are negative and critical towards yourself, your own words can stop God’s plan from coming to pass in your life.

As long as you bring up pain from the past, you are going to have strife in the present.

To him that knows what is right and doesn’t do it, then it is sin.

Don’t give any foothold to the enemy; a foothold of strife, a foothold of arguing, a foothold of unforgiveness.

But it all starts in our hearts and minds.  We have to believe that we have what it takes.  We have to believe that we have a gift, a treasure on the inside.

God is saying to you today, “Who told you that you don’t have what it takes to succeed?”

When God puts a dream in your heart, it may look impossible in the natural.  Every voice may tall you it will never happen; but if you will believe and stay in faith, and expect good things, you can defy the odds.

When disappointment or rejection knocks you down, get back up and go again.  So, just because you have come to a dead end, that’s not the time to give up.  Find a different rout and keep pressing forward.

Often, out of our greatest rejection, comes our greatest direction.  When you come to a closed door, or something doesn’t work out in your life, instead of seeing that as the end, regard that as God nudging you in a better direction.

The dream in your heart may be bigger than the environment in which you find yourself.  Sometimes you have to get out t of that environment to see your dreams fulfilled.

Two thousand years ago, God loosened your collar.  Now it’s time for you to start walking out of it.

The curse does not come without a cause.  Confess your faults one to another and pray for one another that you might be healed.

Every right choice you make begins to overturn the wrong choices of those who have gone before you.
