Then the Lord said, My Spirit will not put up with humans for such a long time, for they are only mortal flesh. In the future, their normal lifespan will be no more than 120years. (Gen. 6:3, NLT)
Wait, He intended our life to span to be 120 years! I may not understand the full theology behind this verse, but in context with the average life-span within the 80s (I originally thought around 75.)—I am encouraged to be obedient. Think about it. What’s the one verse that immediately springs to mind in regards to our days being long?
Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee. (Ex. 20:12, KJV)
