Christmas

I will be making a conscious effort to wish everyone
a Merry Christmas this year …

My way of saying that I am celebrating

the birth Of Jesus Christ.

ornament

And Happy New Year

To one and All…

The above is from a Christmas email my husband sent me and I just had to share it with you.

The Blessing of His Word—Don’t Listen to Me; Listen to Him!

“And He said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” 2 Cor. 12:9 NKJV (others KJV)

“He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.” Isaiah 40:29

“Fear not; for I am with you. Be not dismayed; for I am your God. I will strengthen you; yea, I will help you; yea, I will uphold you with the right hand of My righteousness.” Isaiah 41:10

“When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him.” Isaiah 59:19

The above verses are from an email sent by my husband to bring encouragement to a family member in the time of need.  I wanted to post them, and in realizing today was Jeni’s shower, I thought they were greater still.  After all, what can be greater than His word?!

What favorite verses would like to impart in celebration of the season?  Share them with us, share them with Jeni, and pour His word into her heart.

Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, and many blessings to all!

Jordon's Star

A
Christmas
Tree is a nice
thing to see. A star
on top and bunch of
presents with lots beads.
Sometimes I wonder what
could be better than this. I see
that star on top and know that this.
is pure bliss. It reminds me that when
Christmas comes around. You will need
chains to hold me down. Every time I see it,
I wonder what it could be that mommy and daddy
got for me. Sometimes it is so hard to wait with such
glee. I know that Christmas will come very soon because
I eat ice cream with a spoon. There is no time to waste.
I hope I have a really nice pace. Imagine what it will be like
waking up on Christmas day. I hope there will be no end to this
joyful way.
Merry
Christmas!

“But the angel of the LORD said to Elijah the Tishbite, Arise, go up to meet the messengers of the king of Samaria, and say unto them, Is it not because there is not a God in Israel, that ye go to enquire of Baalzebub the god of Ekron? Now therefore thus saith the LORD, Thou shalt not come down from that bed on which thou art gone up, but shalt surely die. And Elijah departed.” 2 Ki. 1:3-4

Arise and speak the words of the Lord.

“Then the king sent unto him a captain of fifty with his fifty. And he went up to him: and, behold, he sat on the top of an hill. And he spake unto him, Thou man of God, the king hath said, Come down. And Elijah answered and said to the captain of fifty, If I be a man of God, then let fire come down from heaven, and consume thee and thy fifty. And there came down fire from heaven, and consumed him and his fifty. Again also he sent unto him another captain of fifty with his fifty. And he answered and said unto him, O man of God, thus hath the king said, Come down quickly. And Elijah answered and said unto them, If I be a man of God, let fire come down from heaven, and consume thee and thy fifty. And the fire of God came down from heaven, and consumed him and his fifty. And he sent again a captain of the third fifty with his fifty. And the third captain of fifty went up, and came and fell on his knees before Elijah, and besought him, and said unto him, O man of God, I pray thee, let my life, and the life of these fifty thy servants, be precious in thy sight.” 2 Ki. 1:9-13

Come down.  Know your place.

“Behold, there came fire down from heaven, and burnt up the two captains of the former fifties with their fifties: therefore let my life now be precious in thy sight. And the angel of the LORD said unto Elijah, Go down with him: be not afraid of him. And he arose, and went down with him unto the king. And he said unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Forasmuch as thou hast sent messengers to enquire of Baalzebub the god of Ekron, is it not because there is no God in Israel to enquire of his word? therefore thou shalt not come down off that bed on which thou art gone up, but shalt surely die.”  2 Ki. 1:14-16

Know who you are, and do not be afraid.

“And Elijah said unto Elisha, Tarry here, I pray thee; for the LORD hath sent me to Bethel. And Elisha said unto him, As the LORD liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee.hold ye your peace. And Elijah said unto him, Elisha, tarry here, I pray thee; for the LORD hath sent me to Jericho. And he said, As the LORD liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee. So they came to Jericho. And the sons of the prophets that were at Jericho came to Elisha, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the LORD will take away thy master from thy head to day? And he answered, Yea, I know it; hold ye your peace.” So they went down to Bethel.  And the sons of the prophets that were at Bethel came forth to Elisha, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the LORD will take away thy master from thy head to day? And he said, Yea, I know it; hold ye your peace.” 2 Ki. 2:2-5

Hold your peace, follow the Master and remain under His covering.

“And Elijah said unto him, Tarry, I pray thee, here; for the LORD hath sent me to Jordan. And he said, As the LORD liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee. And they two went on. And fifty men of the sons of the prophets went, and stood to view afar off: and they two stood by Jordan. And Elijah took his mantle, and wrapped it together, and smote the waters, and they were divided hither and thither, so that they two went over on dry ground. And it came to pass, when they were gone over, that Elijah said unto Elisha, Ask what I shall do for thee, before I be taken away from thee. And Elisha said, I pray thee, let a double portion of thy spirit be upon me. And he said, Thou hast asked a hard thing: nevertheless, if thou see me when I am taken from thee, it shall be so unto thee; but if not, it shall not be so.” 2 Ki. 2:6-10

Do not be afraid to inquire of God, no matter how difficult it may seem.

“And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven. And Elisha saw it, and he cried, My father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and the horsemen thereof. And he saw him no more: and he took hold of his own clothes, and rent them in two pieces. He took up also the mantle of Elijah that fell from him, and went back, and stood by the bank of Jordan; And he took the mantle of Elijah that fell from him, and smote the waters, and said, Where is the LORD God of Elijah? and when he also had smitten the waters, they parted hither and thither: and Elisha went over. And when the sons of the prophets which were to view at Jericho saw him, they said, The spirit of Elijah doth rest on Elisha. And they came to meet him, and bowed themselves to the ground before him.” 2 Ki. 2:11-15

Take your position and walk in His ways.

“And when they urged him till he was ashamed, he said, Send. They sent therefore fifty men; and they sought three days, but found him not. And when they came again to him, (for he tarried at Jericho,) he said unto them, Did I not say unto you, Go not?” 2 Ki. 2:17-18

Do not defer from His voice.

“So the waters were healed unto this day, according to the saying of Elisha which he spake. And he went up from thence unto Bethel: and as he was going up by the way, there came forth little children out of the city, and mocked him, and said unto him, Go up, thou bald head; go up, thou bald head. And he turned back, and looked on them, and cursed them in the name of the LORD. And there came forth two she bears out of the wood, and tare forty and two children of them.” 2 Ki. 2:22-24

Touch not God’s anointed.

In closing, I would like to add some additional notes as written in my bible from a message preached by a previous pastor (my paraphrase).

When following the path around the mountain, or in the circle of His will, follow the path of relationship verses religion and his action verses your own ambition.

  1. Leave everything behind (This includes past people.)  Sin not.  (Repentance is not an apology; it is turning away.)
  2. Separate yourself.  (Otherwise, will destroy the anointing.)
  3. Reaffirm yourself (His word) – be hungry!
  4. Cross over!
  5. Go through Jordan. (The place of the enemy.)
  6. Face the enemy!
  7. Your mantel (His glory) will fall.
  8. Put it on!!

“And he said unto Jehoshaphat, Wilt thou go with me to battle to Ramothgilead? And Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel, I am as thou art, my people as thy people, my horses as thy horses. And Jehoshaphat said unto the king of Israel, Enquire, I pray thee, at the word of the LORD to day.” 1 Ki. 22:4-5

Be careful of your communication and always inquire of the Lord before going into battle.

“And the messenger that was gone to call Micaiah spake unto him, saying, Behold now, the words of the prophets declare good unto the king with one mouth: let thy word, I pray thee, be like the word of one of them, and speak that which is good. And Micaiah said, As the LORD liveth, what the LORD saith unto me, that will I speak. So he came to the king. And the king said unto him, Micaiah, shall we go against Ramothgilead to battle, or shall we forbear? And he answered him, Go, and prosper: for the LORD shall deliver it into the hand of the king.” 1 Ki. 22:13-15

KNOW His voice and follow Him.

“And the king said unto him, How many times shall I adjure thee that thou tell me nothing but that which is true in the name of the LORD? And he said, I saw all Israel scattered upon the hills, as sheep that have not a shepherd: and the LORD said, These have no master: let them return every man to his house in peace. Now therefore, behold, the LORD hath put a lying spirit in the mouth of all these thy prophets, and the LORD hath spoken evil concerning thee.” 1 Ki. 22:16-17; 23

When you KNOW His way, walk in it.  Do not seek your own path—your own will.

“And the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat, I will disguise myself, and enter into the battle; but put thou on thy robes. And the king of Israel disguised himself, and went into the battle. And a certain man drew a bow at a venture, and smote the king of Israel between the joints of the harness: wherefore he said unto the driver of his chariot, Turn thine hand, and carry me out of the host; for I am wounded. And the battle increased that day: and the king was stayed up in his chariot against the Syrians, and died at even: and the blood ran out of the wound into the midst of the chariot.” 1 Ki. 22:30; 34-35

You cannot outrun God.  He will cause His word to come to pass.

“And he walked in all the ways of Asa his father; he turned not aside from it, doing that which was right in the eyes of the LORD: nevertheless the high places were not taken away; for the people offered and burnt incense yet in the high places. And Jehoshaphat made peace with the king of Israel.” 1 Ki. 22:43-44

Do not compromise the Voice of Truth!

“Jehoshaphat made ships of Tharshish to go to Ophir for gold: but they went not; for the ships were broken at Eziongeber. Then said Ahaziah the son of Ahab unto Jehoshaphat, Let my servants go with thy servants in the ships. But Jehoshaphat would not. And Jehoshaphat slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David his father: and Jehoram his son reigned in his stead.” 1 Ki. 22:48-50

Repair the broken places and turn completely toward Him.

Holiday Greetings3Holiday Greetings2

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!  Don’t you just love our seasonal blog themes!  Thanks to my wonderful husband Jerry, Rena (Click her name to see how she does Christmas.) and I can enjoy snow every year! And, hey, just in case you missed your turkey last month, don’t forget to scroll down for some Christmas cookies and coffee.

(They look better than any I’ve ever made… ha!)

Can you believe The Daily Mercies are here again?  Why?  Because I posted later in the month for November.  So, join us today in continued celebration of The Anointed One by linking within your comments.  To kick off this month’s festivities, let’s celebrate moving out of the valley from some of my previous Journal notes.

As one voice out of the valley of “Baka”, move in the direction of the angel:

1.) Arise and Get up!

2.) Put upon the belt of “Truth”.

3.) Bind your sandals. Put on your proper shoes; be balanced.

Stand and go forth in battle (pray) as my witness and disciple of my gospel. Be clothed in my armor and follow me. Change course and press toward the mark!

4.) Be not a hearer, but a doer! (Beyond the vision to reality!)

5.) Walk through doors only “I” can open!

6.) Know my hand of deliverance and press, even when you cannot see me!

7.) Walk in what you “know”!

Merry Christmas!christmas_signature

I’m so glad I’m a part of the Family of God,
I’ve been washed in the fountain, cleansed by His Blood!
Joint heirs with Jesus as we travel this sod,
For I’m part of the family,
The Family of God

“If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?  Wherefore lift up the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees; and make straight paths for your feet, lest that which is lame be turned out of the way; but let it rather be healed.” Heb. 12:7; 12-13

“And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.  From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” Ja. 2:12, 13; 3:10; 4:17

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” 1 Jo. 1:9

Today we celebrate as the Family of God.  The family who overcomes and learns to walk in His ways.  The family who celebrates new life and is covered in His love.   The family who celebrates Him!

Want to share your story?  Link with us through Wednesday and share your Thanksgiving testimony.

And Joshua had commanded the people, saying, Ye shall not shout, nor make any noise with your voice, neither shall any word proceed out of your mouth, until the day I bid you shout; then shall ye shout.

And it came to pass at the seventh time, when the priests blew with the trumpets, Joshua said unto the people, Shout; for the LORD hath given you the city. Joshua 6:10; 16
