We introduced you to The Daily Mercies with our little sister Jamie Elizabeth and today I follow up with little ole’ me. There I am sandwiched between the protection of my parents. It’s Homecoming ’92 and l am still learning what that protection means. Now blessed with a wonderful husband and two awesome boys. How great is His Mercy?! Yes, though I count my life blessed, the Path of Righteousness hasn’t always been easy. Here I was young and ready to graduate high school. Our family was new to the Church of God and becoming stronger through the years. It was during this time that we met the Third Person of the Trinity—The Holy Ghost Himself. And by the looks of things, I was headed in the right direction. However, I have deferred from that path many times, yet, He gracefully accepts me at the Mercy Seat.
I was on the Homecoming court. Can you believe it? Don’t let that fool you, we were a small senior class of six so all three girls were matched with the three boys. What I haven’t told you is, I was also graduating as a fifth year senior. Meaning, I was to graduate the year before but did not have the credits. I am telling you, It was God who got me in this private school along with those two parents who have continued to fight and pray for me through years!
Who would have thought I would later home-school my kids. With my two great parents and of their many words of wisdom, my mom told me you can’t teach without learning and oh how true that statement is! My children reflect so much from me all the while I learn so much from them.
My little heroes you might say, as I am in awe of who they are becoming in spite of myself and my many shortcomings. Does that cry-out for His mercy loud enough? If not, I leave you with these scriptures from Zech. 9:8-12 (NKJV). (Jamie and I at the tale–double for their trouble.)
I will camp around My house
Because of the army,
Because of him who passes by and him who returns.
No more shall an oppressor pass through them,
For now I have seen with My eyes.
The Coming King
Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion!
Shout, O daughter of Jerusalem!
Behold, your King is coming to you;
He is just and having salvation,
Lowly and riding on a donkey,
A colt, the foal of a donkey…
He shall speak peace to the nations;
His dominion shall be ‘from sea to sea,
And from the River to the ends of the earth.
God Will Save His People
As for you also,
Because of the blood of your covenant,
I will set your prisoners free from the waterless pit.
Return to the stronghold,
You prisoners of hope.
Even today I declare
That I will restore double to you.For more clink the pic-link above. Please leave your comments and email us @ bloggymail@heresmycuplord.com
