“And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.” 1 Cor. 13:13
1 Cor. 13 is my husband’s favorite chapter in the bible. Not surprising as charity begins in the home and he is our head. I was thinking of him and how deeply he desires to see a greater example of His love brought forth from within our home. Sure, this was supposed to be a short writing about our Charity bin where we collect certain items and drop off to the local church. It would be a great place to showcase how rewarding giving is and how easy it is to eliminate clutter and avoid having an annoying garage sale. But in truth, my heart points to the love of my husband and how he shows that love in ways that go unnoticed. He is often unappreciated for the many things he does. Greater still, the gestures he puts so much heart into. I, personally, have not shown my gratitude as I should. Instead, I’ve done the opposite in many ways.
Today he is off and will be spending the day with his family. Last week, he went to the store and bought steaks and baking potatoes (along with many other little mommy things) and even plans on baking a German Chocolate Cake. I told you, we’re foodies! I am so blessed to have a husband who works so hard and puts his family first, who thinks of us in ways we don’t even realize, who would rather spend his time with us then anywhere else IN THE WORLD, and who will make me coffee when he’s really tired and hates cleaning out the pot… ha! Perhaps this post should be entitled: “What a Man!”, as he is a wonderful example of who LOVE really is.
