Ok… so I’ve mentioned I have two boys… right? Well, they are both something else—to say the least! I honestly don’t know what I would do without them! Recently, while preparing dinner together, my youngest informed me, as he often does, that his maw maw does it better! We were making fried chicken when he said he wished Maw Maw would make her fried chicken… and on he went. This led us to talk about different things she makes that he prefers, like her hot dogs for example. Hot dogs? Who could mess up a hot dog? Just to let you know, my husband and I love to cook and consider ourselves to do pretty well. Our kitchen is the center of our home. Trust me, we’re foodies! At least by our own definition. So, I’m thinking—wait a minute—I sear my hot dogs and they are yum-o! <Love the Rachael Rayism! I go on about my mom’s hot dogs and french fries which, I soo loved after church. He then explains that I do things like my mom and Maw Maw just does it different. Maw Maw boils her hot dogs and she uses white buns… ha! Too cute! Yes, to a kid, hot dogs are everything.

Kids just don’t know gourmet food, do they? Mine told me the same thing – “Could you make the hot dogs not brown and crunchy on the outside?” Hey! I like em like that. They just wanted em plain and boiled… I guess we should appreciate simplicity when they ask for it, because sometimes they are quite complicated!

Ladies, just so you know, Maw-Maw says she nukes her hotdogs. (Seems like I remember that.) How’s that for keeping it simple?
