Big Sister's Back

Big Sister's Back

Dream on...

Dream on...

…and we’ll have to wait for more pics with Mom ’cause Mom was snapping pics and Joedaddy was filming.

I just have to add one funny note…  Cammie tried to call her Big Mama while she was waiting for her plane to take off.  Big Daddy had the cell at the camp.  He whispered, “hello?”  Apparently he didn’t know who she was and couldn’t take the time to find out.  “Can you call me back after dark,” he whispered from his tree stand.
I’m sure he’ll be thrilled to talk to her tomorrow… after he comes down from the tree stand.
Thanking Him that she’s home!
Merry Christmas!

And what one nation in the earth is like thy people Israel, whom God went to redeem to be his own people, to make thee a name of greatness and terribleness, by driving out nations from before thy people whom thou hast redeemed out of Egypt?” 1 Chron. 17:21
  • There’s Something about That Name… Jesus, Jesus, Jesus!!  Kings and kingdoms shall all pass away, but there’s something about that name…
“Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: and hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.” Eph. 1:21

Because of my lies of the past

My position with his

My wrong of today

My life with him

I rest in prayer

I hope at His words

Knowing nothing of tomorrow

My Redeemer lives!

And so I write—I pen His words—

trusting in His peace—

His voice to be heard.

…He that has an ear

Let him hear—

(what the Spirit saith to the churches!)

*He is the Head. We are the body.

We are the church—His church!

I’m trusting in your voice. Help me not to sway—with these words I write—every word I say. Help me to trust your voice today.

In every word, with every way.

I trust your voice today.

*Let the words of our mouths—and the meditation of our hearts—be acceptable in thy sight. Oh!, Lord, our strength and our redeemer.

(Whether with words we pen, or words we type, Oh! Lord, our strength and our redeemer.)

Help us to speak with peace and love—Oh! Lord, our strength and our redeemer.

Help us to look to you who is seated above—Oh! Lord, our strength and our REDEEMER!

—Have faith, in God…

If we just have faith…

Trust in Him and Never Doubt…

I know the Lord will work it All out…

He lives in me Today!

In continuation of my previous post… Are you His little girl?

Sometimes I feel like a little girl trapped in a woman’s body.  I flew through life so quickly, never pausing to hear the music of my wings in the air.  I failed to capture life’s milestones in each moment.  I toiled through each new season never realizing I didn’t have to—let alone the fact that I was never meant to.

How can I possibly reflect when I became a woman and how each chapter poses questions that I may not be able to answer.  How can I expect the respect or understanding of others through this process, when “I” cannot bear to understand them?

I feel the constant pressure to measure up, not only to my husband and others, but to myself.  The ways are countless as are my many sins and failures.  The shame so confounding—stronger than my many walls.

I have found my words in so much of the dialog, It’s almost embarrassing to note how young I am in this area.

After all, I am to be so far removed from this place!  (Then I ask myself, “Am I?”)  This uncertainty is the clear work of the enemy.  However there are times when all you hear is the noisome pestilence.

As I’ve cried and others have helped turn on the light of His truth, this book has done the same.  Who knows what dreams may come and where grace may lead.

Looking back, oh how I do resonate with feeling like victory is reserved for those greater than I.  Though I know better, I have to remind myself that I am indeed fearfully and wonderfully made—His princess!  To be romanced is an understatement!  Does not the prince seek after his princess, as our King His warrior bride?

This is something I’ve never truly experienced.  In the manner that I have struggled to receive, this is where I am reminded, “I am worthy!”  The idea of being needed, desired, sought after appeals to us all in many ways.  For me, part of this journey is to truly find those desires deep within my heart.

I want to accept them, embrace them, release them, and express them.  I want to express them as I am created to do, seeing my beauty through His eyes.

I have used my femininity in all the wrong ways, for all the wrong reasons, only to find my true hearts desires were created as His.  Though He created me to be passionate, I’ve never really felt pursued.  Instead, I flew, I lunged into the physical, hiding behind insecurity and fear.

To this day I find it hard expressing myself without feeling invalidated.  All I’ve ever wanted was the loving pursuit and embrace my Savior alone offers me—causing me to feel this is the only place I will find myself as captivating—as outlined in this book.

Of course I long to draw out the strength of a man and be the passion of His desire.  Of course my heart wants more—but most of all, I want to be more—to give more.

  • Through those powerful words I have heard spoken by Kenneth Copeland, comes these verses from my personal devotion… there is coming an hour!

For, behold, the LORD cometh forth out of his place, and will come down, and tread upon the high places of the earth.  And the mountains shall be molten under him, and the valleys shall be cleft, as wax before the fire, and as the waters that are poured down a steep place.  For the transgression of Jacob is all this, and for the sins of the house of Israel.  What is the transgression of Jacob? is it not Samaria? and what are the high places of Judah? are they not Jerusalem?  Therefore I will make Samaria as an heap of the field, and as plantings of a vineyard: and I will pour down the stones thereof into the valley, and I will discover the foundations thereof.  Micah 1:3-6

Arise ye, and depart; for this is not your rest: because it is polluted, it shall destroy you, even with a sore destruction.   If a man walking in the spirit and falsehood do lie, saying, I will prophesy unto thee of wine and of strong drink; he shall even be the prophet of this people.  Micah 2:10-11

Then shall they cry unto the LORD, but he will not hear them: he will even hide his face from them at that time, as they have behaved themselves ill in their doings.   Thus saith the LORD concerning the prophets that make my people err, that bite with their teeth, and cry, Peace; and he that putteth not into their mouths, they even prepare war against him.   Therefore night shall be unto you, that ye shall not have a vision; and it shall be dark unto you, that ye shall not divine; and the sun shall go down over the prophets, and the day shall be dark over them. Then shall the seers be ashamed, and the diviners confounded: yea, they shall all cover their lips; for there is no answer of God. But truly I am full of power by the spirit of the LORD, and of judgment, and of might, to declare unto Jacob his transgression, and to Israel his sin.   Hear this, I pray you, ye heads of the house of Jacob, and princes of the house of Israel, that abhor judgment, and pervert all equity.

Therefore shall Zion for your sake be plowed as a field, and Jerusalem shall become heaps, and the mountain of the house as the high places of the forest.  Micah 3:4-9, 12

But they shall sit every man under his vine and under his fig tree; and none shall make them afraid: for the mouth of the LORD of hosts hath spoken it.   For all people will walk every one in the name of his god, and we will walk in the name of the LORD our God for ever and ever. Micah 4:4-5

And thou, O tower of the flock, the strong hold of the daughter of Zion, unto thee shall it come, even the first dominion; the kingdom shall come to the daughter of Jerusalem. Now why dost thou cry out aloud? is there no king in thee? is thy counsellor perished? for pangs have taken thee as a woman in travail.   Be in pain, and labour to bring forth, O daughter of Zion, like a woman in travail: for now shalt thou go forth out of the city, and thou shalt dwell in the field, and thou shalt go even to Babylon; there shalt thou be delivered; there the LORD shall redeem thee from the hand of thine enemies. Now also many nations are gathered against thee, that say, Let her be defiled, and let our eye look upon Zion.   But they know not the thoughts of the LORD, neither understand they his counsel: for he shall gather them as the sheaves into the floor.   Arise and thresh, O daughter of Zion: for I will make thine horn iron, and I will make thy hoofs brass: and thou shalt beat in pieces many people: and I will consecrate their gain unto the LORD, and their substance unto the Lord of the whole earth.  Micah 4:8-13

But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.  And he shall stand and feed in the strength of the LORD, in the majesty of the name of the LORD his God; and they shall abide: for now shall he be great unto the ends of the earth.  And this man shall be the peace, when the Assyrian shall come into our land: and when he shall tread in our palaces, then shall we raise against him seven shepherds, and eight principal men.  Micah 5:2, 4, 5

And they shall waste the land of Assyria with the sword, and the land of Nimrod in the entrances thereof: thus shall he deliver us from the Assyrian, when he cometh into our land, and when he treadeth within our borders.   And the remnant of Jacob shall be in the midst of many people as a dew from the LORD, as the showers upon the grass, that tarrieth not for man, nor waiteth for the sons of men. And the remnant of Jacob shall be among the Gentiles in the midst of many people as a lion among the beasts of the forest, as a young lion among the flocks of sheep: who, if he go through, both treadeth down, and teareth in pieces, and none can deliver. Thine hand shall be lifted up upon thine adversaries, and all thine enemies shall be cut off.   And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the LORD, that I will cut off thy horses out of the midst of thee, and I will destroy thy chariots: and I will cut off the cities of thy land, and throw down all thy strong holds:  and I will cut off witchcrafts out of thine hand; and thou shalt have no more soothsayers: thy graven images also will I cut off, and thy standing images out of the midst of thee; and thou shalt no more worship the work of thine hands. Micah 5:6-13

He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God? The LORD’s voice crieth unto the city, and the man of wisdom shall see thy name: hear ye the rod, and who hath appointed it.  Micah 6:8-9

Thou shalt eat, but not be satisfied; and thy casting down shall be in the midst of thee; and thou shalt take hold, but shalt not deliver; and that which thou deliverest will I give up to the sword.  Thou shalt sow, but thou shalt not reap; thou shalt tread the olives, but thou shalt not anoint thee with oil; and sweet wine, but shalt not drink wine. For the statutes of Omri are kept, and all the works of the house of Ahab, and ye walk in their counsels; that I should make thee a desolation, and the inhabitants thereof an hissing: therefore ye shall bear the reproach of my people. Micah 6:14-16

Trust ye not in a friend, put ye not confidence in a guide: keep the doors of thy mouth from her that lieth in thy bosom.   For the son dishonoureth the father, the daughter riseth up against her mother, the daughter in law against her mother in law; a man’s enemies are the men of his own house.   Therefore I will look unto the LORD; I will wait for the God of my salvation: my God will hear me.   Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the LORD shall be a light unto me. I will bear the indignation of the LORD, because I have sinned against him, until he plead my cause, and execute judgment for me: he will bring me forth to the light, and I shall behold his righteousness. Micah 7:5-9

According to the days of thy coming out of the land of Egypt will I shew unto him marvellous things.   The nations shall see and be confounded at all their might: they shall lay their hand upon their mouth, their ears shall be deaf.   They shall lick the dust like a serpent, they shall move out of their holes like worms of the earth: they shall be afraid of the LORD our God, and shall fear because of thee.   Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? he retaineth not his anger for ever, because he delighteth in mercy. He will turn again, he will have compassion upon us; he will subdue our iniquities; and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.   Thou wilt perform the truth to Jacob, and the mercy to Abraham, which thou hast sworn unto our fathers from the days of old.  Micah 7:15-20

It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.  They are new every morning:  great is thy faithfulness.  Lamentations 3:22-24

Recently, my friend, Robin, shared with me about God radically changing her life.  Robin and I were friends as teenagers.  You can see the 80’s Robin here.  We were recently reunited after Robin’s 20th high school reunion.

After Thanksgiving, Robin became very sick.  During this time, God marvelously answered her prayers to guide her back on the right path.  She was unaware that I had been praying for her as well.  The visitation she described reminded me of Saul on the road to Damascus.  The Lord gave her revelations of His plans for her.  She is presently in the Air Guard and feels confident that she is right where she needs to be.  Robin has a very tender, repentant heart towards the Lord.  Over the past week and a half, she has experienced a process of grief over sin, enormous burden for loved ones, great joy and a “weight lifted” from her.  “I’ve never felt so clean before,” she explained.  She is overwhelmed with a deep love for others.  This reminds me of Romans 5:5:  …for the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

The Lord has continually opened her eyes to things that she is writing down and has not yet fully shared with me.  “We’re in the end times, Rena,” she told me.  She is eager to get well and go wherever the Lord would send her and speak to whomever will listen.  She’s like a sponge.  Over the past week, she’s called me with many questions eager to learn and grow.  I’ve prayed with her, cried with her and rejoiced with her.  Robin told me that she has always believed.  But now she is in a place of complete surrender.  The difference, I told her, is that now she is willing to make Him Lord.  So many people will turn to Christ as Savior, but not as Lord.  I’ve heard it said before, “if He’s not Lord OF ALL, He’s not Lord AT ALL.”  I have to agree.  As Robin says, “things are different now.”  He met her where she was and turned her completely around.

Isn’t He amazing?  Robin gave me permission to share her story.  More details of her testimony will be shared in the upcoming weeks.  She mentioned that she may share some of it herself.

Robin is waiting for the results of blood work.  She is currently diagnosed with a sinus infection and bronchitis, but is concerned it may be worse.  Please pray for her healing, for His hedge and continued growth for Robin.  Also pray for wisdom and grace for Robin as she confronts areas of her life as well as relationships that He is changing.

Her recent journey reminds me of Chris Rice’ hymn, Come To Jesus.  I hope you’ll take a moment to listen.  The lyrics are included.

I have learned recently through a message from Bylle Brim that God referring to Adam and Eve as one, named them Adam.  Interestingly, she pointed out how woman being made from man, was not just by the rib alone.

We are one. With that, I stand with my husband today with this devotion found in 1 Peter chapter 3.

The Time Has Come… !

Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives; while they behold your chaste conversation coupled with fear.  Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel; but let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.

For after this manner in the old time the holy women also, who trusted in God, adorned themselves, being in subjection unto their own husbands: even as Sara obeyed Abraham, calling him lord: whose daughters ye are, as long as ye do well, and are not afraid with any amazement. Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.

Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous:not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing.  For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile: let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it.

For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil. And who is he that will harm you, if ye be followers of that which is good?  But and if ye suffer for righteousness’ sake, happy are ye: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled; but sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear: having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ.

For it is better, if the will of God be so, that ye suffer for well doing, than for evil doing.  For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit: by which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.

The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ: who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him.
